From 1595 to 1972, it was the place for the Delft cattle markets. Nowadays the square is a cozy terrace surrounded by large trees.

In the Old Church (Oude Kerk) with its characteristic leaning tower, you will find the final resting place of many Dutch historical figures from the sixteenth and seventeenth century.

The Agneta Park is the oldest factory colony in the Netherlands with a landscape layout. The oldest part is from 1882-1885. E. Gugel designed the cottage-style houses. Landscape architect L.P. Zocher built the park.

The city hall, built in renaissance style (1618-1620) is constructed around the medieval tower Het Steen which dates back to the 13th century. The tower was used as a prison whose most famous prisoner was Balthasar Gerards, the murderer of William the Silent.

Vermeer’s View of Delft is probably the most famous cityscape painted by a Dutch master in the 17th century. The painting shows the view from the top floor of a house on the Hooikade, which looks out over the south side of the harbour.

The conference will take place at the TU Delft Aula Conference Centre, a spacious venue that features multiple well-equipped conference rooms besides open spaces and a restaurant.

To access the venue by public transport, take bus 40, 55, 69 or 174 from Delft Station, and exit at bus stop TU Aula.

If you're coming by car, you can park on campus at P Aula (Van der Waalsweg 1), P EWI (Feldmannweg 2), or P Sports (Van den Broekweg 1). Parking is free of charge.

Join us on June 1st for the welcome reception at the Van Der Mandele Hall at the Prinsenhof Museum.

The Prinsenhof Museum takes vistors on a journey through Delft's rich past and artistic and cultural heritage. It was also the scene of one of the most important events in Dutch history: the assassination of William the Silent. You can still see the bullet holes in the wall of the museum.

The Prinsenhof is located at 2 km from the main venue at TU Delft. You can easily go by foot, which will take you around 25 minutes, or go the first part by bus and walk the last 10 minutes.

On June 2nd, the evening programme takes the form of a conference dinner at the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft's city centre.

The Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) with its 108-metre-tall spire is the second-tallest church in the Netherlands. The royal crypts and William the Silent, also known as William of Orange’s tomb are located here.

The Nieuwe Kerk is located at 1,7 km from the main venue at TU Delft, or 20 minutes walking distance. Alternatively, you could travel the first part by bus.
