Fair fees for hotels and B&Bs

Hotel booking sites like Moonback play an important role in the business of hotels and B&Bs. Through these platforms, they can reach more people than they could on their own.

Travellers like you can use Moonback for free. Accommodations that connect to Moonback directly pay for our services in the form of a platform fee (als know as commission).

Our fees:

  • 10% platform fee on the room price
  • 3% platform fee on the room price for returning guests via Moonback
  • 0% platform fee on breakfast and incidentals

Background: Why are our fees so much lower?

Our platform fees are substantially lower than those of other booking sites, which are known to charge platform fees from 15% to 20% to their hotels and B&Bs.

However, this wasn’t always the case. They, too, charged fairer fees in the past. But as the success of booking sites increased, so did the dependency of the accommodations on these platforms. This newfound power allowed booking sites to force hotels and B&Bs to pay higher and higher fees – and they did.

Our frustration about this kind of power abuse has been one of the driving forces behind the creation of Moonback.

The same fees for every hotel

Another key element – all hotels and B&Bs pay exactly the same fee percentages. No matter if they are big or small, purple or green – accommodations cannot pay us more to get a higher ranking or to reap other benefits. On Moonback, the rules as well as the opportunities are the same for everyone.

This benefits you, too!

As accommodations cannot influence search results, you are simply presented with the hotels and B&Bs that best meet your search criteria (rather than with those which have the highest marketing budgets).

Quite refreshing, isn’t it?
